ДСТУ EN 10210-2 - Hot finished steel structural hollow sections - Part 2: Tolerances, dimensions and sectional properties
Hot finished structural hollow sections of elliptical shape, which differ from the circular and the rectangular sections of ДСТУ EN 10210-2 by their outline: the outside is an ellipse H x B with the major axis twice the minor one, and the inside an ellipse (H - 2T) x (B - 2T) on the same axes, so the section has a major and a minor axis like a rectangular one, but no flat side and no corner. The section is formed hot, or formed cold and heat treated afterwards, so the steel has the properties of a hot rolled product. The standard covers elliptical shapes up to 500 x 250 mm; the size table runs from 120 x 60 to 500 x 250 mm with walls from 3.2 to 16 mm. The sectional properties follow from the three specified dimensions by the formulae of Annex A.4: because the inner contour is an ellipse and not a curve parallel to the outside, the wall is exactly T only on the two axes. Identical adoption of EN 10210-2:2019, whose elliptical size table is the same as in the 2006 edition.
