DIN 472 - Retaining rings for bores - Normal type and heavy type
Retaining rings for bores, the internal counterpart of the DIN 471 ring for shafts: the ring is compressed to pass through the bore, springs out into a groove in the bore wall, and its lugs with the assembly holes point inward. The rings locate parts such as rolling bearings in bores and transmit axial forces. Made in a normal type and a heavy type. DIN 472:2026-05; a size is the pair of bore diameter and ring thickness, and the heavy type is the thicker ring for the same bore and groove.
