Čapy bez hlavy, typ A, vyrobené bez otvorov pre závlačku, ktoré má typ B; tvarom ako valcový kolík ISO 2338, ale ide o čap s toleranciou h11 namiesto m6 alebo h8. Čap je hladký valec, ktorý slúži ako os vo vidliciach a okách koncoviek tiahel a zaisťuje sa iným spôsobom než závlačkou, napríklad poistnými krúžkami v drážkach vyrobených na zaistenie. Driek má toleranciu h11 a oba konce majú zrazenie c 30 stupňov; čapy sa vyrábajú z automatovej ocele s tvrdosťou 125 HV až 245 HV. Zahŕňa menovité priemery od 3 do 100 mm s dĺžkami približne od dvojnásobku do desaťnásobku priemeru, najviac 200 mm. Čap s hlavou je ISO 2341.
