Metrični navojni čepi z navojem po vsej dolžini povezujejo dele z maticami na obeh koncih ali se privijejo v navojno izvrtino. DIN 976-1:2016 določa mere in dobavne pogoje za čepe iz jekla, nerjavnega jekla in neželeznih kovin z grobim in finim navojem od M2 do M72. Oblika A ima konce RL v stanju po valjanju; oblika B ima posnete konce CH po ISO 4753.
