内六角轴肩螺钉，性能等级12.9，规格由按f9公差磨削、比螺纹更粗的轴肩决定，而 ISO 4762 螺钉的规格由螺纹决定。这种螺钉同时是定位销和紧固件：轴肩在孔中转动并承受剪切载荷，而其下方比轴肩小一个规格的螺纹只负责把连接拧紧；连杆和杠杆的铰接、卸料板的导向以及夹具和模具的运动件都靠这段轴肩。一个规格就是标准标记所写的 ds × l 组合。轴肩直径带来整支螺钉——螺纹（轴肩6,5 mm配M5，直到轴肩25 mm配M20）、头部直径dk、头部高度k、对边尺寸s、内六角深度t和螺纹长度b，而轴肩长度说明这支螺钉能定位多厚的零件。螺纹长度不像圆柱头螺钉那样随长度变化：标准按轴肩直径逐一给定，因为螺纹只是把已贴合的轴肩压住。涵盖轴肩直径6,5至25 mm、轴肩长度10至120 mm；两个最小轴肩分别止于40 mm和50 mm。头部可为光头或滚花头，表中给出两个头部直径仅出于此；轴肩长度的公差为公称尺寸至公称尺寸+0,25 mm。由于形状所限，该螺钉无法做拉伸试验，但满足12.9级的其余全部要求。1983年第一版至今仍然有效。
