DIN 18182-2 - Accessories for use with gypsum plasterboards - Part 2: Drywall screws

DIN 18182-2:2019-12 drywall screws for fixing gypsum plasterboard to metal and timber framing. It is the dimensional complement to EN 14566, which sets the performance of such fasteners but leaves their dimensions to the producer. Five forms share one table: TN - trumpet head and sharp point, with a double-start thread for thin sheet steel or a single-start coarse thread for timber; TB - trumpet head and drill point for thicker steel sections; SN - narrow countersunk head; FN - flat head with a collar for fixing hangers and profiles; LB - pan head and drill point for joining profiles. A size is the form with d x l, for example TN 3,5 x 25. The length of TN, TB and SN is the overall length, because the head is driven flush with the board, while FN and LB are measured under the head. Covers nominal diameters 3,5 to 5,5 mm with lengths from 9,5 to 130 mm. The standard draws the thread without a pitch or a root diameter, so the catalogue reports none; head diameters are maximum values.
